At Riddle Defense we pride ourselves on taking fresh, beginner students and making them proficient with the basics in a short period of time. We always encourage our students to continue their firearms training so they become more confident and better shooters.
If you are new to the shooting world and are interested in getting educated in firearms, becoming a better shooter and getting your Concealed Firearms License, you should consider taking this class “Basic Handgun Course – Conceal Carry Qualification”.
No matter if you are an advanced shooter or a beginner, the fundamentals are what matter. Learn them and get to the range and practice them like your life depends on it, because it does!

*This course makes you eligible to receive your Florida Concealed Firearms License. **You must pass a Florida Law and Safety written test, a firearms handling skills test and shoot a qualifying score in order to receive your Florida Carry Concealed Firearms License Certificate. Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
SESSION CANCELLATION: Individual session cancellations are to be made at least 24 hours in advance of the session request, failure to do so will result with the student being charged for the session.
REFUNDS: In the event that a medical problem or prolonged circumstances prevents completion of the contracted sessions within the time period set forth, the student may take an extended period of time to complete the sessions. Length of extension will be determined upon presentation of medical documents. Upon Sign-Up: Your payment is non-refundable. If you must cancel, you may apply the cost of the course to any other upcoming class within the calendar year.

Meet The Instructor
John Riddle is a Retired Sergeant who served with the West Palm Beach Police Department. During his 28 years of service he has worked as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer and Road Patrol Supervisor. John is certified in the State of Florida to teach Defensive Tactics and Firearms to Law Enforcement officers.
In 1989, John tried out and was selected to become a member of the SWAT Team for the West Palm Beach Police Department where he served for 16 years. He instructed the SWAT Team’s defensive tactics program, firearms and tactical entry. He worked for 13 years on the Entry Team and 3 years as a Sniper Team Leader. In 1996, John was selected as a member of the CAT Team; a street level narcotics unit that performed drug buys, wrote search warrants, conducted prostitution stings and worked tactical patrol duties in high risk areas. John’s teaching career began in the mid 1980’s when he was assigned as a Combat Arms Training Instructor (CATM) in the United States Air Force Marksmanship Unit. During his Air Force career John taught firearm skills to Air Force Security Police, Air Force Base Law Enforcement Personnel, Para Rescue units and Combat Controllers.
